Dear fellow students and all of you interested in cultural exchange!
We get to access and (sometimes even..) read a lot of literature here at the university but I believe the best and most sustainable way of learning is to exchange with a real person, sharing real life experiences and conceptions. The international community here in Joensuu is quite large and diverse, leaving us with a unique chance to exchange knowledge and experiences with each other and the Finish community. In doing this we could widen our horizons and embark on countering wide spread stereotypes. If you would like to get to know the social and cultural peculiarities of various countries or if you are interested in more details about the Finish culture and society be welcome to join our Living Library as a ‚reader‘.
Hot drinks, juice and little snacks will be provided.
If you would like to present about your country of origin and share your personal experiences about its culture and society please do as the honour and be a ‚living book‘. You will find further information on this document: http://goo.gl/g9So7B
You will find the sign up sheet if you follow this link and please mind the deadline (30.04.15): http://goo.gl/jCFnPT
This is an event hosted by ESN Joensuu but it is open to everyone interested and you are most welcome, no matter wether you are a student or not.
Please note our second session taking place on Thursday the 7th of May.
- Everyone is invited.
